Wisdom of the Road: The Wolf and the Sheep

A man said to his son:
“Be a wolf.”

The son agreed,
but did not know how.

He had seen wolves
that attack first
and call it strength.
He had seen sheep
that stay quiet
and call it safety.

For a long time,
he thought the choice
was between teeth and fear.

But on the road,
he saw a wolf
that did not attack.

It walked openly.
It did not rush.
It did not explain itself.

There was no pack beside it —
only space.

And the son understood:

A wolf is not the one
who strikes,
but the one
who is not challenged.

A sheep becomes prey
not because it is gentle,
but because it does not know
what it is.

From that day,
he did not seek danger.

He sought clarity.

And the road accepted him.
